Glenlivet, the US’ top selling single malt Scotch, has signed up as the national presenting sponsor of the 2010 Playboy Golf Scramble.
The Pernod Ricard brand is backing the saucy and celebrity-focused golf tour which has 15 individual events before the finals in LA in March. The whisky had both branding and serving presence at each of the tournaments across the US. At which the brand attempted to match the age of its product to the holes – promoting 12-year-old at the 12th hole, 15-year-old at the 15th and so on.
The charity event rights also include the post-finals annual Playboy Golf & Pajama Party at the infamous Beverly Hills Mansion – other backers include Monte Carlo Resorts and Italian wine brand Zonin. At the party, celebrity guests (largely drawn from the worlds of TV, film and sport) were served Glenlivet and received exclusive gifts at the Playboy Golf Gifting Lounge from companies including Dearfoams, Jumpin Jammerz, Sport Kilt, Big Little Fudge, Sugar Factory and Junk Underjeans.
Comment:
Not so very subtle, but perhaps well matched to those travelling businessmen who so frequently find themselves alone at hotel bars.
