A slapstick spot sees seasoned silverware collector and Jaguar ambassadors Andy Murray and José Mourinho star in a humorous heist spot to highlight the brand’s pre-tournament trophy tour which aims to inspire kids to take up tennis and promote the new Sportbrake.
Mourinho teams up with two schoolchildren, plus some cardboard and a little gold paint, on a mission to add to his own sporting silverware collection by pinching the trophy from fellow Jaguar endorser and current Wimbledon champion Andy Murray.
Moourinho’s cunning plan, which revolves around classic classroom craft supplies, sees the Manchester United manager and his two young accomplices try to steal Murray’s trophy, while the world tennis number one and reigning Wimbledon champ tries to keep track of his prized cup using the premium estate car’s new ‘InControl Remote’ app.
This new Jaguar in-car connected tech enables owners to monitor the location of their vehicle (and to lock/unlock its doors, check fuel levels and set the cabin temperature) using a smartphone.
The spot is amplified across Jaguar’s digital and social channels: from YouTube,
to Twitter.

The humorous heist spot is part of the car company’s Wimbledon Trophy Tour which aims to inspire youngsters by bringing Murray’s personal (replica) version of the familiar, pineapple-topped gold cup to schools and tennis clubs around the UK and to promote its new XF Sportbrake estate and its new InControl Remote’ app.
The spot’s launch marks the start of the men’s singles trophy singles trophy’s special UK tour of schools and tennis clubs in the XF Sportbrake: which aims to give kids from all backgrounds the chance to get their hands on Andy’s famous trophy.
The tour ends at the Goodwood Festival of Speed (29 June to 2 July) where the trophy and car will be on public display.
“Apparently, I’m the first winner in the history of Wimbledon to give up their replica trophy like this,” comments Murray.
“It was hard to part with it but it’s for a great cause and I know it’s in safe hands in the XF Sportbrake, especially with its special safety features and technology so I can keep track of it.”
Earlier in the month Jaguar also worked with ambassador Andy Murray on a tennis-themed reveal campaign for its new XF Sportbrake.
Activative Comment:
