Everton’s icons – including legend Duncan Ferguson and current forward Moise Kean – surprised unsuspecting self-isolating fans on Mother’s Day as part of the club’s ‘Blue Family campaign’.
Two Evertonian mothers and Toffees fans, both of whom are self-isolating throughout the coronavirus pandemic due to having underlying health conditions received calls from the club stars.
Assistant manager Duncan Ferguson called Everton fan Jan, who is at home in palliative care and whose son and daughter are unable to visit her on Mother’s Day due to the virus, called to check in on her and wish her a Happy Mother’s Day.
Massive thankyou to @EITC @Everton and especially Duncan Ferguson for making my terminally ill mothers, Mother’s Day. Myself and my family have not been able to visit her on what could be our last one together – however my brother recorded this for me after I had contacted @EITC. pic.twitter.com/PXiCNUIiT8

While Kean, who discussed his own close relationship with his mother when he first signed for Everton, spoke with season ticket holder Jayne O’Toole who is in remission from cancer and self-isolating to protect her immune system.
So Moise Kean just rung my sister @M155YMC to wish her a Happy Mothers Day!
She is self isolating due to being in remission, so this was a huge boast.

Comment:
From personal deliveries of season tickets and new season shirts, this outstanding and moving Mother’s Day initiative is an admirable move for the club and for its Blue Family project.
