The first week of August saw another sport look to its return to action when England Netball rolled out a new campaign called #RiseAgain.
Led by a social spot which claims that “for every day that we’ve been kept apart from our teammates and the incredible game we all love, we have been dreaming of the day that we can celebrate being together again”, the national governing body’s campaign comes after it submitted its return to competition action plan to the UK government.
While the sport waits for the government restart green light, its new marketing initiative calls on its members to pledge support for the sport as it looks to address the financial challenges of COVID-19.
As the campaign’s hero commercial states: “There has never been a more important time for us all to rally together and collectively help netball #RiseAgain” before seeking to drive viewers online to join the movement and pledge their support: https://www.englandnetball.co.uk/rise…
The #RiseAgain campaign asks members to pledge their full annual membership fee by 30 September 2020 and in return England Netball will print their names on the court for the next Vitality Roses home international matches.
While for those unable to invest the whole fee, an alternative option is on offer to retain full membership with a 30% discount.

With your help, netball emerge stronger and #RiseAgain.
For those who pay the full membership fee between 3 Aug and 30 Sept 2020, we'll print your name on the court for the next Vitality Roses home international series

Plus, to further demonstrate the campaign’s underlying promise that ‘we are all in this together’, England Netball is also giving member clubs and players access to a range of promotional materials that they can put on their own website and social media channels.
As well as members, these assets are designed for organisations, clubs, leagues, counties and regions and suit a range of platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn, as well as websites.
All users need to do is navigate to the relevant web page, click on an asset, save it to their own computer or phone by right clicking and then selecting save, or holding your finger on the image and selecting save/add to photos on your phone and then then upload them directly to the relevant platform.

Outcome:
Within 24 hours of its being posted on 3 August, the campaign’s spearhead spot had generated 42k views on Facebook, plus 20k on Instagram and a further 1.6k on the England Netball YouTube channel.
Comment:
This is an impressively multi-functional campaign which not only inspires and informs, but is also a utility and aims to raise money.
And why not? After all, if you you’ve got to promote a new set of guidelines then you might as well run a wider, inspirational marketing campaign and if you have financial strains then you might as well fund raise simultaneously.
