The start of September saw grocery delivery app Getir sign a fresh three-year partnership with Tottenham Hotspur FC to become the club’s first-ever Official Training Wear partner: a move that expands its sponsorship to Official Global Partner status.
The deal, which will see app-led grocery delivery service’s logo feature across the club’s men’s team training wear, was unveiled and launched at the Tottenham Hotspur Training Centre by Head of Kit and Equipment Steve Dukes and a team of players who unveiled the new branding, after, of course, receiving a quick delivery from a Getir courier.
The launch was promoted through a video and image led social media campaign running across both brand and club online platforms from 3 September with content that includes the football-linked copy line: “We’ve done all the training to make sure your game day groceries are delivered in minutes!”

“We are excited to be announced as Tottenham Hotspur’s first-ever Training Wear sponsor,” commented Getir UK General Manager Turancan Salur. “As an Official Global Partner, we look forward to supporting our loyal customers and reaching out to more people in the community on match days throughout this three-year partnership. We are delighted that fans will see our purple and yellow name within the stadium and on the training kits of the players.”
Tottenham Hotspur Chief Commercial Officer Todd Kline added: “We are delighted to be expanding our relationship with Getir and carrying their name on the Men’s team training wear for the next three years. We look forward to supporting the growth in awareness of the Getir brand using the global appeal of the Club and by delivering unique experiences and match-day activations at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for our fans using Getir’s world-class technology.”
Comment:
Getir first unveiled its initial Spurs sponsorship – its first sports tie-up in the UK – back in August and since its UK launch in January 2021 Getir claims to have completed 1 million grocery deliveries across London, Birmingham, Manchester, Brighton, Cardiff, Liverpool and Bristol. The company plans to expand its UK operation across 15 cities by the end of 2021 and it aims to launch in the US before the end of the year.
The Turkish-headquartered, mobile app based, on-demand fast delivery grocery service start-up was founded in 2015.
