At the start of January German sportswear giant Adidas launched a new running campaign promoting its iconic Adistar trainer/sneaker called ‘The Long Slow Run’ fronted by long distance runner and mental health advocate Jake Tyler who stars in a 60-minute online film showcasing the art and rhythm of the long, slow run.
Tyler, who runs to help is mental wellness, featured in the BBC show ‘Mind Over Marathon’ and fronts a film which explores how the ‘rhythm of striding and breathing merges mind and body’ and emphasis that ‘taking in the surroundings is key to finding joy in the journey rather than the destination’.
Created in harness with agency We Are Social and 19 Sound, the campaign rolled out at the start of January 2022.
With a focus on the grit, determination and dedication required to run slow, the spot promotes the emotional and functional benefits of the Adistar which help Tyler ‘sets the pace to outrun his possibilities’.
Ever since @jaketyler_bdw walked 3000 miles around Britain to battle against depression, he continues to set his own pace to outrun possibilities.
