As athletes refocus their training and ambitions around summer 2021 after the postponement of this year’s Olympics, Adidas marked the second Tokyo ‘one-year-to-go’ countdown to the biggest event in the global sports calendar with a new film in its evolving ‘Ready For Sport’ series called ‘What’s One More?’.
The spot sets out to inspire athletes as they prepare for its 2021 return and connect with sports fans and communities around the world as they eagerly await the their own return to action.
It explores how the pandemic postponements and cancellations affected the physical and mental wellness of sports stars and showcases how they are using the experience to positively prepare to get back in the game.
The campaign takes a first person approach to telling stories of resilience and vulnerability as the narrative arc follows the reflections and preparation of global Adidas ambassador athletes as they hope and ready themselves for the return of the sports they love.
The underlying message is that the German sportswear giant helped its own athletes stay focused and game-ready as they set their sights on what is nowthe 2021 Olympics.
The film features sprost stars such as swimmers Katie Ledecky and McKenzie Coan, runner Shaunae Miller-Uibo and tennis player Stefanos Tsitsipas as they look ahead to what’s to come for a sport community united amidst a global setback.
The campaign was created for Adidas by a team at agency Iris New York which included Executive Creative Director Simon Candy, Creative Director Lexi Corn, Managing Partner Simon Yoxall, Group Account Director Greg Markant and Agency Producer Chris Buda, with production company Station Films and Beast
Director Sarah Chatfield.
