Sean Wotherspoon reunited with adidas Originals for a nature-inspired sneaker release and marketing campaign promoting the ecology influenced ‘SUPERTURF ADVENTURE SW’ (and accompanying apparel capsule): a new silhouette based on the ‘Response Hoverturf’ which has been adopted with a range of playful design features and motifs celebrating the natural world.
Streetwear designer Wotherspoon – best known for creating the iconic Nike Air Max 97/1 – also steered the animation led marketing creative with animator Alex Jenkins which is led by a hero spot set to a sound design by Youth Mode and a soundtrack provided by Theophilus London & The Bebey Band.
The trainer’s upper section features a colourful design with sections in green, orange, blue and purple, while purple zip running up the tongue offers a glimpse of Jiminy Cricket (from Disney’s Pinnochio) which the designer chose as a reference to his own childhood memories at Disneyland and to Jiminiy Cricket’s appearance on the ‘Recycle Please’ bins across the resort.
Continuing the sustainability and ecology theme, the sneaker features multiple recycled elements across the upper – including a 100% recycled polyester and insole – and the upper itself is constructed from 20% recycled polyester.

The campaign was created for Adidas Originals by Animator Alex Gamsu Jenkins and Designer Sean Wotherspoon with music and sound handled by Youth Mode and a soundtrack composed by Theophilus London & The Bebey Band with Sound Designer Ash Hanif.
