A striking new stunt skiing campaign from Audi for its Quattro brand in France features renowned French freestyler Candide Thovex.
Developed in partnership with agency Lowe Stratéus, the creative is set in a pristine pastoral off-season scene.
Filmed in Megève, France, the landscape comes complete with cows in mountain meadows and ski lifts left idle in the off-season.
Then, not deterred by the mild weather or the complete lack of snow, Thovex thrillingly hurtles through the grassy fields and leafy forests, over bridges and under tunnels until he dry skis right into the open hatchback of a waiting Audi Quattro.
The campaign launch dovetails with the 16 December announcement that Audi has been unveiled as the presenting sponsor of the Vierschanzentournee ski jumping series.
The deal was brokered by the Infront Sports & Media agency, the exclusive marketing partner of the Austrian Ski Federation and German Ski Association.
The agreement will cover three seasons of the series, from 2015-16 to 2017-18.
This year’s event will begin on December 28 in Oberstdorf, Germany.
Audi served as the main sponsor of the Vierschanzentournee last season.
Under the new partnership, Audi will provide a fleet of vehicles in the venues and will receive additional exposure on installations and LED boards.
The brand logo will be featured on all of the athletes’ bibs at the final competition in Bischofshofen, Austria.
Comment
This is both a stunning and a thought-provoking spot by Audi.
Is this simply a striking no-snow ski stunt, or a eco vision of future December days in the French Alps if the planet doesn’t halt global warming?
