The Irish and Leinster star Robbie Henshaw proves rugby players of all levels and ability don’t need to consign themselves to the gym to make training gains at the Canterbury ‘Ultimate Farm Challenge’.
This participatory training experience, developed by the international centre, the sportswear brand and Elverys Intersport, was a unique experience open to fans across Ireland.
The campaign-cum-competition began back in September with an invite, call-to-action running across Canterbury’s digital and social channels that offered a chance to meet and train with Henshaw.
An invitational video was posted on YouTube
and supported socially too (on Twitter for example)
The executions invited fans to go online to the Elverys Intersport blog to sign up for the challenge at http://bit.ly/2cfo1SL by filling out the form before the 9 October deadline.

The 20 winners chosen to attend the day in late October were divided into teams and spent the day itself participating in a farm-version of a strongman contest in a bid to win Canterbury prizes: complete with hay bales, tractor tyres, log hauls and wheelbarrow racing.
Essentially these were farm versions of power, speed, strength and endurance tests.

The participants were trained and advised by experienced personal trainers and after the contests, the prizes were handed out by Henshaw at a post-event BBQ and drinks reception.
