The end of July sees the unveiling and roll out of Colorado University (CU) Athletics 2018 football season tickets and this year’s tix feature drawings from kids at Children’s Hospital Colorado.
The CU football ticket designs were chosen from an art contest for patients at the Children’s Hospital Colorado.
In total, 25 drawings were created to adorn the tickets for the team’s games: these feature the kids depictions of CU’s mascot ‘Ralphie’ and/or pictures of the Colorado Buffaloes players.
Six special winners were chosen and these are printed on the season ticket pack sent out to fans in late July and early August.

An added bonus for the young artists sees CU Athletics highlight each of the children who had winning drawings at the game their art is on the ticket for.
“As we were going through design ideas for this year’s football season tickets, we were looking for ways to creatively connect the Buffs football experience to our fans and community, and what better way is there than through the eyes of children, said Matt Biggers, Chief Marketing Officer/Associate AD External Affairs for the Buffaloes.
“To take it a step further, we quickly thought of involving our great partner, Children’s Colorado, to ask the children they are involved with to be the ones to submit their artwork. We were excited that they loved the idea and we were able to move forward creating this fun contest for their patients. What we got back from all of these children exceeded our expectations and we are thrilled that their contributions have made our ticket designs for this season so special.”
“We are so appreciative of the opportunity for our patients to engage with CU Athletics in this way,” said Christy Dobson, Director of Corporate and Community Relations at Children’s Colorado.
“The kids had a wonderful time creating their designs and the winners are so proud to have their art in front of thousands of CU fans.”
Comment:
A heart warming, special touch for season ticket holders that links both cause and community to the team.
This ticket tie-up is the latest in a stri9ng of initiatives promoting the long term partnership between CU Athletics and Children’s Colorado: many student-athletes have visited kids at the hospital through a range of partner programs such as ‘Buffs Hugs’.
Children’s Colorado is also an official partner through Buffalo Sports Properties and the alliance is activated via several CU Athletics activities including ‘Healthy Kids Day’ leveraging the football spring game.
We sure had a lot of fun on Saturday with the Spring Showcase and Healthy Kid's Day sponsored by Children's Hospital Colorado!
