The last week of November saw eLaLiga Santander roll out a campaign promoting the new season of its international competitions – eLaLiga Challenge and eLaLiga Beat the Best.
Titled simply ‘Monsters’, the campaign was spearheaded by a hero spot which was posted across the rights holder’s digital and social channels on 30 November. Created by Madrid-based ad agency Sra. Rushmore and helmed by Director Keane Pearce Shaw with Blur and Martes Studio, the video stars gamer/streamer DjMaRiiO.
The spot tells the ancient Roman tale that Spain was the end of the known world and that beyond its seas lived only dragons and monsters. The message is that eLaLiga’s Spanish gaming competition will venture overseas in 2022 and become and international event for the world’s best players.
The creative itself brings together seven different worlds – each with its own animation style – and DjMaRiiO narrates the story.
The international #BeatTheBest #eLaLigaSantander will see amateur champions from 13 countries (including Australia, Brazil, Egypt Japan and South Africa) compete for the title with the leading gamers, streamers, influencers and footballers taking part in the competition .
