Mid October saw La Liga Santander launch a new campaign for eLaLiga Santander’s 20/21 season called ‘What Cannot Be, Can Be’.
Conceived by creative agency Mrs Rushmore, the hero spot stars famous Spanish gamers and streamers – including such as DJMariio, Gravesen and Neat – and features various visual metaphors.
The 60-second commercial, helmed by Keane Pearce and produced by Blur, sets out to offer an immersive view into the eSports universe via real footage, animation and FIFA21 imagery.
The campaign, launched on 15 October, spans digital media and social networks.
This is the first eLaLiga commercial from the agency Mrs Rushmore since it won the account after a competitive pitch in June and the creative team working on thecampaign included Director David Titos, Art Director Marta Taboada, Writer Marc Xifré, Managing Director Clemente Manzano, Account Supervisors Laura Herrera and Maitane Fernández, with Producers Keane Pearce Shaw, Mario Forniés, Maria Soler and Aldo Guenther, with Post Producer Marisa Mesonero, with animation production by Bliss
Comment:
eLaLiga Santander is the official EA Sports FIFA 21 competition in Spain and is a collaboration between La Liga and Electronic Arts and was first launched in the 2017/18 season with 10 clubs.
eSports is, of course, a sector that in recent years has experienced notable growth with an acceleration spurt during the pandemic which has made it an even more attractive way for brands to connect with their audience.
