AGL has teamed up with TMS Outdoor to offer tennis fans free rickshaw trips from downtown Melbourne to the Australian Open.
This practical approach to marketing around the tournament sees the energy brand pedal people from central Melbourne’s Federation Square to the entrance to Melbourne Park’s Grand Slam hard courts.
This new outdoor initiative sees modern rickshaw bikes ferry commuters from the CBD to the Australian Open – thus demonstrating Melbourne’s commitment to pedal power to visitors from around the world.
The fleet of branded rickshaw bikes pick-up and drop-off at the top of the River Terrace at Federation Square and AO festival entrance from 10am to 4pm everyday from 14 to 23 January and from 2pm to 6pm between 24 and 27 January.
The marketers have also created a branded off-site space in an attempt to promote the service and ensure that the Australian energy company is highlight visible to the world’s tennis fans.
The brand is encouraging all tennis ticket holders to save their own energy for Melbourne Park and take advantage of the free service while enjoying the pleasant ride along Flinders Walk.
“AGL is excited to be offering this free pedicabs shuttle service to tennis fans as a way to get to the Australian Open,” said AGL marketing head Jamima White.
