March saw Hotstar roll out a new campaign urging cricket fans across India to watch the 12th season of the Indian Premier League together with friends and family.
The campaign from the digital and mobile entertainment brand, owned by Star India, was developed in alliance with agency DDB Mudra and spearheaded by a hero commercial.
The film’s narrative arc starts with a couple who are expecting a baby visiting an astrologer. He asks the woman to lick a magnet so her to twins will remain together, but after they are born the exact opposite happens and the kids repel one another.
As the twins grow up they face situations where this bothers them: none more so that the fact that they are unable to can’t enjoy watching the IPL together.
The solution is streaming the game on Hotstar which allows them to chat and interact with one another during the game.
The spot is running nationally on television and on the brand’s digital and social channels.
