This 3D Sports Tracking Technology sees Alibaba combine its cloud computing capability with Intel’s hardware and artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms and blends video camera technology to create a three dimensions ‘mesh’ enabling coaches to analyse biomechanical data of athlete movements in real time.
The objective is to provide tools for trainers to use AI and a digital modelling of motion to help athletes enhance training and improve performance.
The technology is simultaneously being developed to allow broadcasters to analyse, discuss, debate and examine instant replay highlights throughout the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games in order to offer fans more in-depth insights into athlete perform.
