Indian fashion e-commerce company Myntra teamed up with cricket icon and former national team captain cricketer Virat Kohli to front an April campaign called ‘Be Extraordinary Everyday’ highlighting its online catalogue
The campaign aims to drives home the message that ecommerce fashion and lifestyle platform Myntra offers a wide array of stylish designer clothing, footwear, accessories, jewellery and personal care products which can be browsed and bought from the comfort on home and delivered to your door.
The fashion and lifestyle outfit, which is headquartered in Bengaluru (Karnataka), worked on the campaign with agency Tilt Brand Solutions and production company Zig Zag Films.
The marketing burst is centred on a hero film showcasing Kohli waiting for his friend at a theatre. The batsman initially seems annoyed to be left waiting as he doesn’t want to ‘miss the hero’s entry’. But when his friend finally arrives, Kohli is surprised by his stylish appearance which makes him look like the star. The spot closes with the friend revealing to Kohli that everything he is wearing was bought from Myntra.
‘Be Extraordinary Every Day With Myntra’ dropped across TV and the brand’s online channels from 12 April and was accompanied by supporting social content linked to the hashtags #Myntra #BeExtraordinaryEveryday #MyntraBeExtraordinaryEveryday #ViratKohlixMyntra .
The idea behind the campaign is to drive home the message that if you want to look like a star every day, then choose from the widest range of fashion brands (more than 6000) only on Myntra.
“We are extremely happy to welcome Virat as our newest brand ambassador,” said Myntra Chief Marketing Officer Sunder Balasubramanian at the campaign launch. “He is a true inspiration to millions of Indians and his style has influenced young India. We believe that this association will build salience with Myntra and enable us to connect with his fan base.”
