The National Rugby League (NRL) is supporting the Australia Government’s nationwide Covid-19 vaccination programme and the pair have teamed up to launch a new ‘get vaccinated campaign called ‘Let’s Tackle This Together’.
Rolling out over the weekend commencing 20 August, the integrated public service announcement campaign spanned television, radio and social media and all executions seeks to encourage fans and viewers to visit the government’s official website to find out more about getting vaccinated.
It is spearheaded by a hero 30-second video featuring a strong line-up of NFL talent: including St George Illawarra Dragons captain Ben Hunt, Penrith Panthers halfback Nathan Cleary, Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks back-rower Wade Graham, South Sydney Rabbitohs hooker Damien Cook and Melbourne Storm front-rower Christian Welch.

The NRL said the ad was created alongside the Australian government.
“Personally, I thought it was very important that we get the message across. As elite athletes, we can use our profile to encourage people to go and get the jab,” the Ben Hunt said in the campaign PR statement which also explained that the campaign had been created in tandem with the government. “It’s very important for our game that as many people as we can get [vaccinated] and we can get our game going back to normal.”
