A new 30-second commercial from NFL broadcaster NBC, launched on 7 September, hypes the first Sunday Night Football (SNF) telecast as the last blockbuster of the summer.
Called ‘All Eyes On’, the broadcaster’s on-air promo, for the 16 September matchup between the New York Giants and the Dallas Cowboys, features an elite set of football stars (such as Ezekiel Elliott, Saquon Barkley and Odell Beckham Jr) alongside a marauding tyrannosaurus
Debuting during Sunday night’s Chicago Bears v Green Bay Packers showdown, the spot’s summer blockbuster theme links to the fact that the following week’s SNF game will be the last NFL broadcast before 22 September autumnal equinox.
Created in-house, the commercial features footage from NBC family movie studio Universal’s “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” (a 2018 summer blockbuster that has notched up $1.3bn in worldwide box office receipts since its 22 June premier.

As well as the dates, also happens to see the Giants (the team from the biggest NFL TV market) take on the Cowboys (the NFL team with the most fans).
Talk about a blockbuster clash.
NBC will be hoping that this battle of the giants can notch up serious ratings and reverse the NFL’s declining TV viewing figures.
While last year’s Sunday night Giants-Cowboys match averaged 24.4m viewers (and a 13.4 household rating) to be NBC’s most-watched, highest-rated regular-season NFL broadcast of the year, the overall television viewing audience for the NFL was down 9.7% in 2017.
But, despite the disappointing viewer numbers for the NFL kick-off game last week (between the Atlanta Falcons and Philadelphia Eagles), the 19m viewers NBC averaged through the three-hour game still dwarfs all of the broadcaster’s other programming.
