NFL Partner ABInBev’s First Big Game Corporate Spot ‘Let’s Grab A Beer’ Runs In Super Bowl LV

While flagship brand Budweiser sat out Super Bowl LV for the first time in 37 years, its parent company ABInBev (which holds the NFL official beer partnership) ran its first ever corporate commercial in 2021’s Big Game.

 

The ad wasn’t really about the game, or even about the beer, but rather focused on the meaningful moments over which we share a beer and which we are all missing at the moment.

 

The aim was to capturing the corporate mission and view this through a lens that reflected current consumer sentiment.

 

All those connections linked to when a friend says “Let’s grab a beer” are about a lot more than the beer itself.

 

As the spot itself said: “The longer this has gone on the more we’ve realized that the most meaningful moments are really those really simple ones, the spontaneous ones – big and small – so many of which happen when we come together over a beer.”

 

 

The 90-second spot was created by Wieden+Kennedy and was helmed by Oscar-nominated filmmaker David Fincher with Atticus Ross composing the score.
