Real Valladolid Leverages Promotion By Rolling Out ‘Born To Be In First’ Season Ticket Campaign

Leveraging the club’s recent promotion and return to La Liga 1, the elite top-tier football league in Spain, Real Valladolid rolled out a 2022/23 season ticket campaign titled ‘Born To Be In First’.

 

Created in harness with agency DAVID Madrid, the digital-first season ticket campaign – Nacidos Para Estar En Primera / Born To Be In First – builds on last season’s success and the club’s return to what it perceives is its rightful place in the top division.

 

The marketing drive features commentary and footage from the best (and worst) moments from the last season and is led by a 90-second hero spot telling the story of a Real Valladolid fan whose pregnancy coincides with the team’s time in the Second Division.

 

The ad’s narrative arc compares parenthood challenges with those faced by Real Valladolid during its time in the Segunday (second tier of Spanish football): reflecting on the past and looking optimistically to the future while driving viewers to explore season ticket options online at http://www.realvalladolid.es

 

Launched on 12 July, a month ahead of the 12 August start of La Liga 2022/23, the ad states: “Nine months ago our lives changed completely. Every week was full of challenges. Some days were pure joy, while others were not so positive.

 

 

The campaign was created for the marketing team at Real Valladolid FC led by Marketing Director Marco Antonio Farah and Marketing & Sponsorships Manager Álvaro Delgado by a group at DAVID Madrid which included Global CCO & Partner Pancho Cassis, Executive Creative Directors André Toledo and Saulo Rocha, Associate Creative Directors Felipe Antonioli and Luis Giraldo, Copywriter Mario Carrillo, Art Director Andrea Garcia, Head of Social Alex Sanchez, Community Managers Guillermo Gimeno and Jairo Casas, Strategy Director Patricia Urgoiti, Senior Planner Marc Escrig, Planner Mireia Salvado, Head of Accounts Maria Garcia, Group Account Director Lucila Mengide, Account Supervisor Yulia Estalayo, Head of Production Alejandro Falduti and Producer Satin Lardin.

 

The production house was Ladoble Madrid where the team included Director Michelle Cassis, Managing Director and Executive Producer Rodrigo Lema, Head of Production Pablo Boyero, PDO Andy Pulido, Art Director Belén Vallejo Puerta, Stylist Tamara Matute and Post-Production Coordinator Julian López Coppola.

 

Post production was run by compo, music and sound by TDL soundtracks and the Rapporteur was Miguel Angel Roman.

The early roll out of this 2022/23 season ticket campaign is due to La Liga and most other European league kicking off the new season early due to the unusual November/December FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
