EE, the primary partner of The Football Association’s Wembley Stadium, leveraged its rights around The 2021 Emirates Cup Final by rolling out the fifth episode in its ‘Football Stories’ film series which sees TV and radio presenter Roman Kemp look back at The Cup Final.
To activate ahead of the 15 May big match at Wembley, Kemp’s EE social video states that football has played a huge part of his life and that his career kicked off presenting football shows online. According to Kemp, when it comes to the beautiful game, “Nothing beats getting together with your best mates when there is an Emirates FA Cup Fixture”.
“Usually we’d all be together at Wembley having a proper day out,” said Kemp (who’s beloved Arsenal lifted the trophy at Wembley Stadium last year). “But nothing is going to stop me staying connected and watching the game, whenever I want”.
The telco’s video blends London skyline shots on his mobile phone with a split-screen view of Kemp and two friends all tuned in and watching a match live on BT Sport’s new ‘Watch Together’ function which allows customers using the award-winning BT Sport app on mobile devices to watch on, banter and celebrate with friends live.
The episode, which was posted across EE’s social platforms on 13 May, suggests that whether you’re watching the Emirates FA Cup final at home, in the park (or on a roof like Roman Kemp), enjoy it with our friends using Watch Together on the BT Sport app and urges them to add it as a Smart Benefit to EE Smart Plans at https://ee.co.uk/smart-benefits/bt-sport.

The spot was posted just three weeks after Kemp shared the news that he had fractured his ankle and spanned all the ligaments with his 1.4m social media followers, but even that injury didn’t seem to dampen his spirits ahead of the Cup Final.
It follows in the footsteps of April’s EE’s ‘5G Foosball‘ initiative at Wembely.
