Early August saw New Balance’s football silo launch a new film focused on player ambassador Sadio Mané timed to leverage spiking soccer interest at the start of the new Premier League season.
The campaign, created in partnership with New Balance’s retained global creative agency ZAK and running under the title #UNREAL, the film narrates the stratospheric rise of Mané – one of the Premier League’s most prolific goal scorers.
The spot tells the story of the Liverpool winger and Senegal national team captain’s career: from humble beginnings in Senegal, to his move to France (without his mother’s permission) and on to becoming one of the world’s elite attackers.
This surprising, yet true story is told through the voice of Mané and New Balance’s own aspiring young audience.
The underlying message from the sportswear brand is that we’re all on our own remarkable journeys.
The film is distributed across both Mané’s
and New Balance Football’s social channels and is part of New Balance’s umbrella product led H2 2019 marketing programme.
