Following last month’s announcement that Santander is taking over the title sponsorship of London’s public bicycle scheme, the bank has announced plans for world’s first cycle-thru branch.

actually hints at the scale of the task at hand.
More than 11,500 bikes and 740 docking stations and hundreds of miles of cycle paths will all have to be rebranded Santander red.
As Mayor Boris Johnson commented when the deal was announced:
‘As everyone knows, London buses, phone kiosks and post boxes are red. In Santander Cycles we have a new red icon symbolising the capital to Londoners and the world. But that the deep red hue of the bikes was of no political significance whatsoever.’
Comment
Despite the high profile deal, the expensive investment (the current Barclays deal was worth £5m per year and the new deal is thought to see that figure rise to £7m a year), the huge undertaking of rebranding all the bikes and the cycle lanes, wont everyone still just call them Boris Bikes?
