Sportsbet promotes and previews the new AFL season via the fourth instalment of its annual ‘AFL Call Centre’ campaign.
Created in a collaboration between the bookie’s in-house marketing team and production agency Sherpa, the campaign calls upon all 18 clubs as fans ring the phone off the hook at the AFL Call Centre.
The hero spot features a frantic Collingwood fan trying to handle high call volumes, whilst a chilled out Richmond supporters tells callers to pencil themselves in for the last Saturday in September and a little office hazing occurs when an Essendon lover is given a cake to commemorate a special milestone.
The commercial is running on Channel 7 and Fox Footy and across Sportsbet’s social channels.
“Like the traditional Carlton vs Richmond blockbuster at the ‘G, our annual AFL preview video is the perfect way to kick off the season for punters” said Sportsbet’s Rich Hummerston. “Safe to say the poor Collingwood operator will be clocking some serious overtime this season.”
The campaign was developed in-house by Creative Director Rambo Goraya, Copywriters Chris Chard, Hammy Goodman, Shaun Conroy, Tommy Medalia and Adam Rozenbachs, with Director Harley Hamer, DOP Liam Gilmour and Editor Marc Verna.
The production company was Sherpa where the team included Executive Producer Nat Taylor and Producer Shantini Devi.
Comment:
This campaign follows on from the success of Sportsbet’s previous 2018 ‘Footy Rule Change’ and ‘Footy Parent Teacher Night’ and 2020’s ‘AFL Uber’ campaigns.
