Sportsbet.Io Creates New VR Hospitality Experience For Southampton Fans

Early February saw Southampton FC partner Sportsbet.io launch a club VIP experience using virtual reality to recreate the match day magic and offer unique behind-the-scenes teams insights for fans at home.

 

The crypto sportsbook, which seeks to leverage its Southampton rights to inform, educate and engage football fans around the topic of cryptocurrency, also offered a group of influencers a Bitcoin wallet which they can use to build their own unique club VIP experience at home.

 

The initiative spans several different strands: including a virtual stadium tour with a club legends Matthew Le Tissier and Francis Benali, as well as a front-row seat at the training ground and a VR penalty masterclass.

 

 

 

The initiative was developed by Sportsbet.io’s creative and PR agency Fuse and is a pandemic-influenced response to find digital solutions to activating the brand’s original physical match day rights in the current, closed-stadium UK football environment.

 

The 360-degree live VT content and immersive storytelling was handled by East City Films, while the content itself was delivered to influencers using the Pico neo2 headset by Pico Interactive (which specialises in VR business solutions).
