A new Stubhub ticket sales campaign called ‘Be There’ campaign stars rapper Future as a sommelier, running back Todd Gurley in a pottery class and baseball star Albert Pujols working in a hardware store.
The humorous creative, developed in harness with creative agency 72andSunny, revolves around the emotional benefits of live events, the memories they create and how simple Stubhub is to use.
The online ticket exchange company, owned by eBay, has a simple objective: remind people to buy tickets on StubHub.
The content features a star-studded cast with each celebrity appearing in eclectic and unlikely circumstances all of which aim to inspire fans to seize the moment and watch them in person live.
In ‘Pottery’ LA Rams running back Todd Gurley sits across from a woman at a pottery class and encourage her buy tickets to his next Rams game.
While ‘Hardware’ sees Pujols cutting keys in a hardware shop telling the customer that his father misses him and that he should take him to a Dodgers game.
The ‘Sommelier’ spot sees rapper Future appears to a diner and starts pouring wine, telling him that his girlfriend deserves better than an ankle bracelet, like tickets to his sold-out show which he can get on StubHub.
As well as the TV commercial (airing in major US local markets including Philadelphia, Houston and Atlanta), and the supporting 30-second spots all directed by Stacy Wall, the campaign spans radio, out-of-home, digital and social.
