On 27 September singing super star Billie Eilish took to social media to promote her new sustainable sneaker collection partnership with Nike Jumpman 23 Jordan sub-brand .
The collection’s bespoke 100% vegan Air Jordan sneakers are made from more than 20% recycled material and its Air Jordan 1KO bespoke lime green colourway design is a nod to Eilish’s signature ‘Bad Guy’ era hair colour, while the Air Jordan 15’s feature the singer’s ‘Bloshsh’ logo on the tongue.
Eilish, who was named one of Time Magazine’s most influential people of the year, unveiled the ethical trainer collection via her Instagram feed where she posted to her 92.4m followers that “It was such an incredible and surreal experience getting to create these, especially in a sustainable fashion.”
The singer’s signature kicks are currently available exclusively on her own website but will be available soon on Nike’s digital purchasing platforms.
Comment:
This sustainable show celebrity partnership follows on from Eilish commitment to ethical brand causes and followed hot on the heels of her decision to wear Oscar de la Renta to the 2021 Met Gala following the fashion house’s decision to stop using fur.
Of course, Eilish isn’t the first celebrity to team up with the Portland based sportswear behemoth to create signature Air Jordans: Travis Scott formed a similar partnership in 2020 which rapidly sold-out.
