Swisse celebrates Leyton Hewitt’s final tilt at the Australian Open with a ‘Time To Reflect’ campaign that offers Australians an intimate, personal insight into the tennis player’s career.
At the core of the Australian health brand’s campaign sit six 30-second spots – each looking at different aspects of Hewitt’s success (while also plugging specific Swiss products).
These range from his first Grand Slam when he was just 20-years-old, to his youthful dreams and his reflections on just how much representing Australia means.
The spots also link to specific Swisse health products which range from multivitamins and dietary supplements, to sports nutrition, skincare and functional foods.
Such as one clip focusing on Hewitt speaking about his mental battles on the court that dovetails neatly with Swisse’s Memory + Focus vitamins.
Throught the campaign the Aussie tennis star discusses his approach to health and how his Swisse partnership fits in with that.
‘As an athlete my health is, and always will be, extremely important to me. If I don’t prioritise it, nothing else works,’ says Hewitt.
The ads are running on Channel Seven during the 2016 Australian Open and the spots are further supported by a set of in-store promotions, billboards, digital and print advertising.
The campaign has been developed in harness with Swisse’s creative agency Noisy Beast.
Indeed, Swisse actually began activating around its veteran tennis brand ambassador even before the Australian Open began as it ran Hewitt related content across its social channels during the previous week’s Hopman Cup.

Hewitt final Grand Slam has been big news in Australia during the early days of 2016 as he reaches retirement.
Indeed, the Australian Open itself has created a 50-minute Hewiitt documentary – the Final Tour – to promote the tournament and pay tribute to Australia’s top tennis star of the last decade or two.
For Swisse, Hewitt and tennis isn’t the only sports’ elder statesman partnership currently sitting at the heart of a Swisse activation – it is also currently leveraging the current Australian cricket summer with a campaign fronted by Australian legend and former captain Rickey Ponting (see case study).
Indeed, much of Swisse’s marketing revolves around Australian sports ambassador led campaigns.
