Umbro and Werder Bremen’s new ‘City’ shirt launch campaign for its 20/21 season kit revolves around the club’s rhombus logo (for those of you wondering, that’s a quadrilateral whose four sides all have the same length) and features stars from the club’s men’s and women’s teams holding out a single hand to form one half of Werder’s iconic diamond-shaped crest, whilst other players do the same on the other hand.
This gesture is symbolic of the synergy between the team and the local community and comes at a time when players and fans have no choice but to remain socially distanced from one other.
Filmed by directors Christian Wasenmüller and Stefan Harms, the new season product promo pays homage to the tight relationship between the club and its hometown.
The new kit, first worn by Werder Bremen during the last game of the 19/20 season, is available for purchase othrough the sportswear brand’s online shop https://www.umbro.de/werder-bremen.
Comment:
Not only do we like the local commitment of this campaign and the idea of a semi secret signal between players and fans, but we are also delighted to learn the German for Rhombus.
