Premiering on 6 January, Verizon rolled out a New Year active health campaign fronted by athlete ambassador and US Women’s Team star Casey Marie Short.
The initiative takes the form of a tech-led fitness challenge and the Chicago Red Stars (NWSL) defender challenges viewers to stay fit whilst staying socially distanced through a ‘techxpert’ friends and teammates challenge.
According to Short, it can be tough to staying at the top of your game as an athlete – particularly out of season. So she suggests the best way to keep up with training, and with teammates, especially when you can’t all be together, is to use tech and make training social.
A hero spot sees Short show viewers how to use fitness tech – including a Fitbit Sense, Google Pixel 5 and Stridekick – to challenge your friends and teammates to remote training competitions.
The campaign ran across Verizon channels and the soccer star’s own social platforms.
I never miss a chance to compete with my teammates, even in the offseason. That's why I partnered with @Verizon to show how to challenge your teammates to friendly competitions using #FitTech. Check out my #VerizonTechxperts episode to learn how! #VerizonAmbassador https://t.co/bQ205FQvBZ
